6 Months Old

Nathan & Alexa are SIX MONTHS OLD today!
A little about Nathan:
He can roll all around the floor, he loves to stick his tongue out when he smiles, he is very ticklish, he loves to snuggle, he is easily startled, he gets camera shy, he loves to make "who" sounds like an owl, he LOVES the jumparoo, he loves to be read to, he loves to be outside, he can hold his bottle when he wants to, he loves his binky, he hates to be burped, he sleeps well at night but doesn't nap well, he loves the puppies & watching them wrestle, he loves his bottle, he is ALL boy & loves to be hung upside down, thrown around, & wrestled with.A little about Alexa:
She is a princess & loves to be held, she wakes up happy every morning & from every nap, she is an early riser but makes up for it with 3 two-hour naps a day, you can't get a spoon with veggies or fruit in her mouth fast enough, she loves to chew on her two fingers, she loves to be read to, she loves her binky, she loves to go on walks, she loves music, she loves to give big open-mouth kisses, she is a chatterbox, she loves the puppies to kiss her hands, she likes to pull her headband over her eyes, she rubs her eyes when she's tired, she is easy to get a giggle out of, & she LOVES to be standing up. They're both growing up so fast & it gets more fun every day as they learn new things. Part of me wishes I could perserve them & keep them so little & dependant but another part of me can't wait for them to keep growing, learn to crawl, talk, walk, feed themselves, say funny things, share their thoughts, etc... I am so blessed to be able to stay home with them (thank you SAM!). And even though I always say 1 at a time is best, I am grateful to have to two of them together. They really love each other & often hold hands when lying or sitting by each other. They grin when they see each other in the morning or after a nap & I know they'll always be best buds.

Their 6 month well-check is tomorrow so I'll let ya'll know how much they weigh!

LOVE these pictures and their cute little outfits! And no, I cannot believe they are 6 months old already! I LOVE and miss that age and am getting so excited to have another little one!! I can't wait to see y'all next week. We never decided on a for sure day & time due to someone waking up from their nap in a freenzy!! :) And this week has been CRAZY, so I still haven't called you back...sorry! Anyway, how about Thursday or Friday of next week? We are free both days.

they will be best buds! it is totally true and so cool to watch. nathan and alexa are totally adorable! congrats on the first six months! isn't it just great! good luck with your totally cutie cuties! we should have a 3 way twin play date soon!

Oh my goodness, They are the cutest kids ever. They each have their own distint looks too. I can't believe they are 6 months. They grow up way too fast, but yours are definitly still small. That's ok because like said they will grow up before you know it.

So I can't figure out how to get my pictures to enlarge when you click on them. I got one of bay's pictures to do it, but not the other. What am I doing wrong. I enlarge the size on both to 300%, but it only made one of them work right. Help!!

That picture of Alexa is soooo cute! I love her facial expression and her bow! Do you make her bows?

Oh, have I ever told you about my step sister that has 2 sets of twins?! She had one inbetween and always talks about how easy one was after having 2 first. Both sets are boy and girl and they do make such great friends.

They are so darling. They do look so different and have different personalities. How fun. It was so much fun seeing them last month. Hope it's not too long until we see them again. Thanks for sharing, can't wait to hear about their doctor appointments. Love the pictures.

Nathan and Alexa,
Aunt Amy is ordering you to stop growing right now! I can't believe I am missing your smiles, laughs, and kisses!
And Mr. Nate you don't like naps? Then are you sure you are your mommy and daddy's son? We will have to teach you the beauty of a nap!
Will and Owen can't wait to see you next and play. We look at your pictures daily and Will is pretty good at saying your names.
We love and miss you sooo much!

OH MY GOODNESS! Time has flown by...I can't believe they are six months already...Lily will have a blast with them! They are soooo cute and I love Nathan's hair! ahhhh...naps are so fun when the are not taken! NOT! If they only knew that when they get older naps will be very scarce, they would take tons now.
I will have to give you a call soon, since I know how much you HATE calling people! ;)

37 Weeks 2 Days

It's almost the end! I saw Dr. Adam last Thursday and I'm starting to spill protein and swell a little. But my BP is good! So we'll see what happens when I see her this Thursday. We may have to deliver early! I have mixed feelings about that because I really wanted to make it to 39 weeks, and my parents can't come until the 14th. But Sam is worried about my kidneys. So we'll see. Baby girl was 6.5 lbs last week. Even if she comes this week, she'll probably be about 7 lbs! Me on the other hand... I've gained 40 lbs! I have 5 lbs to go to be where I was with my other deliveries. Let's see if I get there! :)

Play Date

Today we got together with another set of twins! Caden & Addison are just a month younger than Nathan & Alexa and were born at Texas Women's also! I met their mom (Laurie) through an email list I got on while on bed rest in the hospital. There was another mom who was supposed to join us who also has boy/girl twins their age-- but she couldn't make it. What a picture that would have been!

Nathan McKay Oldroyd Born August 4th at 6:37 a.m., weighs 5 lbs. 8.5 oz, & is 20 in. long Alexa Dawn Oldroyd Born August 4th at 6:38 a.m., weighs 4 lbs. 5.5 oz, & is 1 6.75 in. long We are so excited that they are finally here! The C-Section went very well & Alisha is recovering well, with the help of pain meds! Nathan needs quite a bit of help with breathing but is improving. We’re told that he may get his ventilator tube out today & they would help him breathe using a C-pap. He breathes ok on his own so he mostly now just needs some pressure to remind him to breathe. He is still in the highest level of the NICU but is doing well. He’ll be in there for at least a few days after we get to go home. Alexa is tiny but doing extremely well. Alisha was able to hold her while still in the OR before she needed some oxygen help. She only had to stay on the oxygen until 11 a.m. and is still in the lower level NICU.
