29 Weeks & More 3-D pictures

Image
I saw Dr. Adam today and everything is still going pretty well!  I did find out why my belly is so huge... I am carrying some extra amniotic fluid and a big baby!  That's new for me!  Around this gestation, all of the other kids have been around 35th-40th percentile.  This baby is 68th percentile and already 3 lbs 4 oz!  The extra fluid is causing a lot of contractions but everything else is ok so she said not to worry. We got to see his face again.  He was rubbing his eyes and even smiled! The umbilical cord was moving around in front of his face on the smiling picture so it looks kind of crazy.  It was so fun to see him move around and to get a glimpse of what he looks like.  Technology is so cool!  I can't wait for this little guy to get here!

28 Weeks

Image
I'm 28 weeks today.  I just did a belly shot last week but wanted to do one again because I have a 28 week comparison in my other two pregnancies and I still have this shirt! So.... I'm huge.  Not quite as big as I was with twins, but definitely bigger than I was with Max.  I've heard several times in the last week that I look like I'm about to have the baby.  It's funny and depressing all at the same time! So far I'm still feeling pretty good!  I did a lot this past week, leading up to the weekend, and I had A LOT of hard contractions on Saturday.  So it's probably about time to slow down.  He's up in my ribs a lot, which I remember about Max as well.  I'm looking forward to finishing up my semester with BYUI so I can focus on getting ready for him to come! My next appointment is a week from tomorrow.  Can't wait!

Preschool Rodeo Day

Maxwell had Rodeo Day at preschool.  Big Brother was nice enough to let him borrow the hat & boots! Mrs. Vanessa said he walked around saying, "Heyyyy... what's the big idea?" in his best Texas accent.  What a handsome little cowboy!

3rd Trimester, Here We Come!

Image
27 weeks today! I'm already getting pretty uncomfortable and very tired. I can't believe there's still 3 months till my due date. I'm going to be as big as a house by the end! We had a doctor appointment this week, on Tuesday. Alexa got to come because it was Spring Break. She loved seeing the ultrasound pictures! He's finally big enough to look at him in 3D. His head is near my right ribs so it was difficult to get a good face shot, but Dr. Adam was so sweet to Alexa and kept trying until we could see him. It's a little distorted but still fun to see what he looks like a little bit! I can't wait to meet him! Everything is still looking good, with me and him. The fluid in his kidneys is still there but hasn't gotten worse. He's growing well and my kidneys are behaving themselves. We are thrilled!

The Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo

Image
We couldn't let another year go by without going to the rodeo!  We actually don't go to the rodeo because it's coupled with a concert, but we love the livestock show & all of the animals! Here we are on the Tram from the parking lot to Reliant Park, and back.  This ended up being listed by each kid as one of their favorite parts of the rodeo (go figure). There were lots of fun tractors to climb on, and we couldn't miss the chance to take a picture by the Breast Cancer Awareness Camaro!  This is for you, Grandma Joan! (The pictures also show how Nathan is not capable of looking at a camera & Max's "special" attempts at a camera smile these days) We loved seeing the baby chicks (especially Max - although he was a little ticked he couldn't hold one), the piglets, calves, and bunnies.  They even let us pet a couple of bunnies & guinea pigs! But the best part ended up being the petting zoo.  It was INSANE!  You go in with a l...

Rodeo Parade

Image
Today was the kindergarten rodeo parade! One of the great things about living in Houston is you get lots of opportunities to wear cowboy boots and hats. Cute kids! And it was such a nice day, Max rode his bike to the school while I walked. He was very helpful to point out every ant pile along the way so I "didn't get hurt." Cute cute boy!

Happy girl!

Alexa had a big day Wernesday! She finally leaned how to ride a 2-wheeler! And just after she did, the mailman pulled up and delivered her long-awaited new cowgirl boots. We have one happy girl in our hands!

Aladdin with My Girl

Image
Alexa & I had the BEST Mommy-Daughter Date.  We went to see Aladdin, performed by the Houston Ballet.  We are lucky enough to have a good friend, Sarah, who plays the French Horn for the Opera & Ballet.  She can get us tickets sometimes and I always love to go!  I usually take a friend to the Opera, but knew I had to take Alexa to the ballet!   She had never been to anything like it, and it is 2 1/2 hours long.  I was a little worried she wouldn't make it... but she LOVED every second!  It was such a special day with my favorite girl.  I love her so much & look forward to many more dates with just the two of us!
