2 Year Pics & Stats

Image
Nathan & Alexa had their 2 year pictures taken today. The photographer wasn't my fave and, lets be honest, they're 2. They just not the most cooperative right now! It made it easy to choose one pose, though, & get the $10 package! (Sorry for the bad quality-- its just a scanned one). They also went to the pedi for their check up (along with Max) on Aug. 20th. Here are the stats: Nathan weighs 26 lbs (24th%), is 34 in tall (35th%) & his head is 49 cm (58th%) Alexa weighs 23 lbs (7th%), is 34 in tall (51st%) & her head is 48 cm (34th%) Nathan's growing into his head! Ha! And Alexa has gotten so tall... Wow, I just can't believe how they've grown. Check out their last visit at 15 mo ... They were just babies back then! Now they're such big kids. I love hearing what they have to say. They are such good kids. They love to read the Book of Mormon. They love Jesus. They give hugs, kisses & say I love you. They love to be read ...

My little artists

Image
When Nathan & Alexa learned how to open the desk drawers, I "locked" them by putting a yard stick through the handles. Apparently, they've learned how to bypass my childproofing. Luckily, they decided to artistically express themselves by drawing on each other rather than the walls or furniture. Oh the joys of having 2-years-olds! Its hard to get mad when they're so cute!

Ready for church!

Doesn't Max look so handsome in his church duds? And check out those shoes!

Max - 4 Months

Image
MAXWELL is 4 MONTHS OLD TODAY! Where did my newborn go? I'm having a really difficult time with Max getting bigger! He is such a DREAM of a baby. He smiles & giggles all of the time although as soon as I get the camera out, he's all business. I'll keep trying. Here are Max's 4 mo. stats: Weight: 13 lbs (7th %), Height: 25.75 in (67th %) and Head: 43 cm (64th %) Here is what Max is up to these days: He smiles constantly & tells GREAT stories, he's a Mama's boy (YES!), he almost always has his hands clasped together like the picture above in his swing, he still is not a great nurser which is why I'm holding off on starting solids, he doesn't like loud noises, he gets hot & sweaty really easily (just like his Daddy & Brother), he can ALMOST roll from tummy to back & has rolled from back to tummy on accident once, he HATES and I mean HATES tummy time, he is the snuggliest baby I've ever met, he loves to give kisses, he's...

Reunion Trip

Image
Last weekend, Max & I headed off to Utah. My 10 year class reunion was on Saturday. I'm a loser & didn't take one picture at the actual reunion-- I was too busy catching up with old friends! High school wasn't the best time of my life but it was still fun to see people & what they had made of their lives. Thank goodness we've all grown up! The best part about the trip was the MUCH needed break. I love my little twinkies but they WEAR ME OUT! Max & I had a great time together & I enjoyed just having one baby to care for-- a new experience! We were able to spend a fair amount of time with my Grandma Gines. She is a very special person in my life & Max just LOVED her. He was all smiles, coos, & giggles with Grandma Great! Max also got to meet his future BFF, Tyson. My friend Lindsi had this little cutie just one day before I had Max. They're going to be great buds! As nice as the break was, I was so happy to return home to Na...

Ready to RUN!

Image
I got a new pair of running shoes. Can't WAIT to use them. Apparently, neither can Alexa... Isn't she the cutest?

A Good Morning

Image
It's been a good morning. Such a contrast to last night... I was so grouchy. Backstory: Sam & a friend decided that they would visit all of the ballparks in Texas this summer. As much fun as that sounds, I'm sure you can imagine that its been superfun for me, being home with 3 kids. Well this weekend was the last one-- in Midland (8 hours away). Off they went yesterday morning. Then I got a call in the evening & Sam's car had broken down. LUCKILY they made it to Midland before it did but it just put me in a sour mood, seeing as how I had told Sam NUMEROUS times that his car was too old to be taking road trips in. When will he listen to me?? Anyway... this isn't about that... I hate being in a bad mood because it makes it hard to be patient with the kids. I did my best but was happy when bed time came for sure. Well despite Sam being gone, this morning has been a good one. I can't help but recognize it as a blessing from my Heavenly Father. It m...

TWO is TERRIFIC!

Image
My busy bees turned TWO on Wednesday! Can you believe it?? We had such a fun day celebrating! We started with breakfast. French toast & "CahCah Moke" (Chocolate Milk)! YUM! After breakfast, me & the kiddos piled in the car to go feed the ducks & play at the park. This is true love, I tell ya, considering the heat index was over 95 degrees already (at only 9am!). We didn't make it long out in the heat but we made the most of the time we were there! When we got home, Nathan & Alexa chilled watching their favorite ElmoErnie movie while I worked on their cupcakes. I was so excited about them & I think they turned out really cute! After naps, Aunt Marianne took them to get a treat & play at Katy Mills. They had a blast! Then it was over to Grandma's for dinner with the fam. We had hamburgers, hotdogs, fruit, and, OF COURSE Corn on the Cob! Nathan ate MORE than his share! Opening presents was one thing that was WAY more fun this yea...

Partridge Family SuperFun Family Vay-Kay 2010

Image
It's been a while since I've blogged. I've been kind of busy. So this is going to be long. But hey, you can spend some time reading it-- it's been a month since any new material after all! I'm making up for lost time!! Here we go... On Wednesday, July 14th, our little family piled in our mini van & headed for Utah. But FIRST there was a lot of preparation. We put the kids to work (don't call CPS). We left at about 6:30 p.m. with high hopes of making it through the night without stopping. Things were looking good & everyone was happy until... I got in a fight with the spring-loaded seat. I sure wasn't prepared for what would happen when I pulled that lever. I was sitting on the floor & WHAM. All went black. I screamed. Loud. It hurt. BAD. Poor Nathan (my sensitive one) freaked out & Sam didn't know what the heck was going on back there. I just wish I would have gotten my first black eye from something less wimpy than ...
