Max at 9 Months


 My baby boy turned 9 months on Saturday!  He just gets cuter every day!  I took him to the pediatrician this morning for his check-up and WOAH this boy is TALL!  Here are his stats:

Weight: 19 lbs. 15 oz. (35th%)
Height: 30 1/8 in. (92nd%)
Head: 18 1/2 in.(87th%)

He is so much bigger than N & A were at this age!  He is wearing clothes than Nathan wore last winter.  He's going to pass Nathan up in height within 2 years I bet!

MAX...
  • Is still very sweet & affectionate & loves to cuddle
  • Only likes sleeping in his bed in his Woombie
  • Still has a major love affair with his binky
  • Can be very LOUD & screams a lot just for fun!
  • Still struggles with reflux which makes for a lot of puking
  • Loves to be outside
  • Is FINALLY starting to reach for things (he's a little lazy) but it'll be a while yet before he's mobile in any way
  • Loves to be fed smashed table food
  • REALLY dislikes cold food (including bottles).  In fact, he will only drink his bottle REALLY warm. (Spoiled, huh?)
  • Still has no teeth
  • Has the most beautiful deep brown eyes.  People comment on them all of the time!
  • Has a little dimple on his left lower cheek
  • Loves the bath
  • Loves "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star"
  • LOVES when his big brother & sissy take the time to play with him or sing to him
  • Gives big wide open mouth kisses
  • Has started to show a little bit of stranger anxiety
  • Loves to clap when we say, "YAY MAXWELL!"
  • Loves to be naked
  • Wakes up WAY too early
  • Is very ticklish
  • Loves to play Pat-a-cake
  • Loves to watch Baby Einstein
  • Wears 12 mo clothes (can still wear 9 mo pants)
  • Loves the jumparoo
Its so fun to watch him grow!  I can wait for him to crawl & move so he can chase his brother & sister around but I'm also enjoying this time before he gets mobile-- I know he'll be getting into EVERYTHING in no time at all!

He is really cute. What a tender little guy. I have never seen him in person, but something about him reminds me of Sam.

In true Oldroyd fashion, the verification word is "cones", as in Blue Bell.

37 Weeks 2 Days

It's almost the end! I saw Dr. Adam last Thursday and I'm starting to spill protein and swell a little. But my BP is good! So we'll see what happens when I see her this Thursday. We may have to deliver early! I have mixed feelings about that because I really wanted to make it to 39 weeks, and my parents can't come until the 14th. But Sam is worried about my kidneys. So we'll see. Baby girl was 6.5 lbs last week. Even if she comes this week, she'll probably be about 7 lbs! Me on the other hand... I've gained 40 lbs! I have 5 lbs to go to be where I was with my other deliveries. Let's see if I get there! :)

Play Date

Today we got together with another set of twins! Caden & Addison are just a month younger than Nathan & Alexa and were born at Texas Women's also! I met their mom (Laurie) through an email list I got on while on bed rest in the hospital. There was another mom who was supposed to join us who also has boy/girl twins their age-- but she couldn't make it. What a picture that would have been!

Nathan McKay Oldroyd Born August 4th at 6:37 a.m., weighs 5 lbs. 8.5 oz, & is 20 in. long Alexa Dawn Oldroyd Born August 4th at 6:38 a.m., weighs 4 lbs. 5.5 oz, & is 1 6.75 in. long We are so excited that they are finally here! The C-Section went very well & Alisha is recovering well, with the help of pain meds! Nathan needs quite a bit of help with breathing but is improving. We’re told that he may get his ventilator tube out today & they would help him breathe using a C-pap. He breathes ok on his own so he mostly now just needs some pressure to remind him to breathe. He is still in the highest level of the NICU but is doing well. He’ll be in there for at least a few days after we get to go home. Alexa is tiny but doing extremely well. Alisha was able to hold her while still in the OR before she needed some oxygen help. She only had to stay on the oxygen until 11 a.m. and is still in the lower level NICU.
