Just four short years ago...

Today is our 4th Wedding Anniversary! It's been a good four years! Our life is definitely different than we thought it would be on that beautiful winter day in Bountiful, Utah. We thought we were going to live in Utah, Sam would finish school at the University of Utah, we would camp every weekend (I even had a camping bridal shower!), and we'd wait a year or so to have kids... Well, none of those plans worked out! We instead moved to Houston where camping is NOT an option, Sam took 3 1/2 years to finish at the University of Houston, and we don't have kids! But the most important thing is that through all of the ups, downs, and changes, we've grown closer and built the beginnings of a strong eternal family.

Here are the highlights of our life together:
2003 - We met in Provo in July, engaged in October, married 2 1/2 months later. We had a beautiful wedding and both were violently ill with a stomach flu the day after. We enjoyed a mini honeymoon in St. George and Las Vegas.

2004 - Alisha finished at BYU-Idaho, we took our real honeymoon to Oahu, Hawaii, we moved to Texas, Sam went back to work at Home USA Mortgage and started school at UofH, Alisha did her student teaching in the ghetto, Roxy came into our family in September, spent Christmas with Alisha's family in Austin, TX.

2005 - Alisha started her first real teaching job, we built a house in Richmond near Sam's parents, enjoyed a cruise to the Caribbean with Alisha's family, Alisha started teaching at a new high school, we made it through hurricane Rita, made it through loosing our first pregnancy, traveled to Utah for Thanksgiving, finished the Book of Mormon before the New Year, spent Christmas with the Oldroyds and New Years with the Partridges.

2006 - Traveled to Utah 7 weeks apart for Grandpa Oldroyd's then Grandma Oldroyd's funerals, Alisha taught summer school, we spent Christmas in Dallas with Alisha's family.

2007 - Alisha took a trip to England with a friend, Pepper joined our family in June, we had fun at Schitterbaun Waterpark with friends, Sam decided to go to school full time, he graduated in December and was offered a job at a local accounting firm, we traveled to Utah to see Alisha's brother off to the MTC, and we'll be spending Christmas in Texas with Sam's whole family!

It's been fun and the best decision I ever made!
