All About Maxwell at 3

Maxwell saw the pediatrician yesterday for his Well Check.  It was a great visit because there were NO SHOTS!  Yay!  Here are his stats:

Height: 41 1/4" (>97th%)    
Weight: 31 lbs (44th%)     
Head: 20 1/4" (88th%)

Tall boy!!!  The funny this is that just a couple of months ago, I measured him with shoes on & he was under 40" so we were worried about rides at Disneyland.  I went out  & bought him the tallest Sketchers I could find!  He still loves the shoes but clearly doesn't need the height anymore!  


 Max...
  • LOVES music & loves to sing to the radio.  His favorite song is "I Will Wait" by Mumford & Sons.
  • is crazy about Diego & its all he wants to watch
  • gets a little jealous if other babies are around.
  • has a wicked temper & is VERY stubborn
  • still loves pancakes & eats them every day.  Sometimes twice a day.
  • says, "What's the big idea???" & makes everyone laugh
  • loves gymnastics, especially Coach Stephanie.  He had a rough time leaving the Mommy & Me class & losing her individual attention but is doing very well in the preschool class.
  • calls a banana a "Boo-nana"
  • potty trained in January in about a day & has NEVER wet the bed (no pull ups!)
  • finally gave up the binky in February.  
  • also got his crib changed to a toddler bed in February.  With all of the changes, its been rough getting the sleep habits back but we're working on it!
  • loves to be one of the big kids.
  • has no fear.  He wants to swim with no floaties & can't wait to go on the big rides at Disneyland!
  • is hilarious.  He's always making us laugh!
  • wears 3T clothes (almost 4T) & a size 8 shoe.
  • still naps every day, usually for at least 2 hours but now without his crib & binky, I usually have to lay with him to get him to sleep.  But honestly, I don't mind the snuggles!
  • loves to have "Jesus Wants Me for a Sunbeam" sung to him before he goes to bed.
  • loves all things boy: dinosaurs, construction, trucks, cars, trains, balls...
  • also really loves the color pink!
  • knows his colors & is learning his letters.
  • is one cute boy & definitely has me wrapped around his finger!

37 Weeks 2 Days

It's almost the end! I saw Dr. Adam last Thursday and I'm starting to spill protein and swell a little. But my BP is good! So we'll see what happens when I see her this Thursday. We may have to deliver early! I have mixed feelings about that because I really wanted to make it to 39 weeks, and my parents can't come until the 14th. But Sam is worried about my kidneys. So we'll see. Baby girl was 6.5 lbs last week. Even if she comes this week, she'll probably be about 7 lbs! Me on the other hand... I've gained 40 lbs! I have 5 lbs to go to be where I was with my other deliveries. Let's see if I get there! :)

Today we got together with another set of twins! Caden & Addison are just a month younger than Nathan & Alexa and were born at Texas Women's also! I met their mom (Laurie) through an email list I got on while on bed rest in the hospital. There was another mom who was supposed to join us who also has boy/girl twins their age-- but she couldn't make it. What a picture that would have been!

Nathan McKay Oldroyd Born August 4th at 6:37 a.m., weighs 5 lbs. 8.5 oz, & is 20 in. long Alexa Dawn Oldroyd Born August 4th at 6:38 a.m., weighs 4 lbs. 5.5 oz, & is 1 6.75 in. long We are so excited that they are finally here! The C-Section went very well & Alisha is recovering well, with the help of pain meds! Nathan needs quite a bit of help with breathing but is improving. We’re told that he may get his ventilator tube out today & they would help him breathe using a C-pap. He breathes ok on his own so he mostly now just needs some pressure to remind him to breathe. He is still in the highest level of the NICU but is doing well. He’ll be in there for at least a few days after we get to go home. Alexa is tiny but doing extremely well. Alisha was able to hold her while still in the OR before she needed some oxygen help. She only had to stay on the oxygen until 11 a.m. and is still in the lower level NICU.
