The Oldroyd Family

I've been a blog slacker. It can be blamed on the fact that I really am super busy! But I still do bring out the camera as often as I remember to take pictures of my adorable little monkeys. We take walks with our friend J every morning around the lake. There are a couple of sets of ducklings & we always make sure we have bread for them. It's so adorable seeing them waddle up the bank when they see us coming. We've even named some of the Ducks-- and we like to think that they like us better than any other passers-by. Alexa's motor skills have been improving & although crawling is not in her very near future, she seems to get around. Nathan is all over the place exploring. He still "army crawls" because it's faster than crawling. He also cut his first tooth a week or so ago! Hallelujah! Maybe I won't have to puree their foods forever?? Here are a couple of videos of Nathan making Alexa laugh. This is a common occurance if she's up in the exersaucer & he's down on the floor playing. It cracks her up to see him try to climb up to see her. We had a special treat today... listen very carefully right before Alexa starts cracking up in the first movie.

This boy has finally started taking much better naps ... ...and is interested in so many new hobbies... like photography ! The babies are getting very mobile. Nathan is going to be crawling any minute. Alexa rolls & rolls & rolls ... They love to have lots of fun play time on the floor... Giggle at silly noises... And got to go to our neighborhood pool for the first time of the season! It's like one big COLD bath ! We have also done some " home improvements ." We finally got the ceiling painted white & borrowed a shampooer from a friend. Look at those beautiful lines! As for me, I'm busy busy busy! And I wouldn't have it any other way!

I want to pass this deal I found along to my Texas friends. Sam & I were so close to booking this but decided to pass... I'm bummed. I called this travel agency to check on everything & here's the deal: You get AIRFARE (children under 2 are free), ground transportation to the resort, taxes, food, drinks, a room, EVERYTHING... under $800 for 3 nights, under $900 for 4 nights. I've checked it out-- it's a legit place. Anyway, call the number on the sight & talk to Heather. I really hope someone can take advantage of this offer-- it's killing me that we can't! Hurry though-- things like this go FAST!

Holy crap-- Nathan & Alexa are NINE MONTHS OLD TODAY!!! Where did my little babies go?!?!? Ok, they're still pretty little-- check out the stats: Nathan: Height 28 1/4" (50th%), Weight 17lbs 8 oz (9th%) & Head 18 1/4" ( 80th% ) Alexa: Height 26 3/4" (25th%), Weight 15lbs ( We've got some skinny kids with big heads. We went to a new Pedi today so things were... interesting. Our old pedi rubbed me the wrong way so I finally got up enough guts to switch. There were things I liked, things I didn't. But overall it was good. Our new pediatrician is very concerned about Alexa's motor skills so we're having an evaluation done on her to see if she needs some therapy. The biggest concern is that she can't push herself up on her arms from her tummy. I tried to tell them that she just takes after me & I turned out just fine (well... I guess that depends on who you talk to) but they still wanted the evaluation. I know that she's per...

Saturday was also Aunt Amy's 24th birthday... and we were lucky enough to get to spend it with her!!! (Thanks for letting us have her Ryan!) We love Amy so much. She is SUCH a good aunt & a wonderful mommy. She always sends us pictures & homemade cards. She calls & checks up on us & she loves her nieces & nephews so much! And they ALL love her! She has such a gentle nature so everyone loves to be around her! Thanks for being such a wonderful Aunt & Sister! We love you!
