Max's Birthday Celebrations

Max had a great birthday week!  We started with a family party combined with our Easter meal.  Since the only thing Max really wanted to eat for his birthday was cake, I didn't think he'd mind the ham and potatoes!  He got some fun presents- A stuffed elephant and game from Grandma & Grandpa, Beyblades from the cousins, and a horse trailer from Aunt Marianne.  

He wanted red cupcakes so he got Red Velvet - my favorite!

Tuesday was his actual birthday.  He had school, so he chose to take donuts as his treat.  Then when he got home, he wanted to watch Frozen... TWICE!  So we snuggled up on the LuvSac and did just so.  I may have gotten a nap in there somewhere...

For dinner, Max wanted pizza.  So we had a yummy family dinner at Grimaldi's!

And finally time for presents... he got Disney Planes shooters from his siblings, Duplo Legos from Grandma & Grandpa Partridge, and his favorite new toy... a new bike!
I wish I would have taken a video of him riding his new bike.  He was hootin' and hollerin' and having the best time!  He feels like SUCH a big boy and can keep up better with his brother and sister now!

Wednesday came the friend party.  We went to Inflatable Katy Bounce House for some fun, opened presents, then headed to our favorite dining spot, Lupe Tortilla for some lunch!  We had a great time with great friends!

Today we got together with another set of twins! Caden & Addison are just a month younger than Nathan & Alexa and were born at Texas Women's also! I met their mom (Laurie) through an email list I got on while on bed rest in the hospital. There was another mom who was supposed to join us who also has boy/girl twins their age-- but she couldn't make it. What a picture that would have been!

Nathan McKay Oldroyd Born August 4th at 6:37 a.m., weighs 5 lbs. 8.5 oz, & is 20 in. long Alexa Dawn Oldroyd Born August 4th at 6:38 a.m., weighs 4 lbs. 5.5 oz, & is 1 6.75 in. long We are so excited that they are finally here! The C-Section went very well & Alisha is recovering well, with the help of pain meds! Nathan needs quite a bit of help with breathing but is improving. We’re told that he may get his ventilator tube out today & they would help him breathe using a C-pap. He breathes ok on his own so he mostly now just needs some pressure to remind him to breathe. He is still in the highest level of the NICU but is doing well. He’ll be in there for at least a few days after we get to go home. Alexa is tiny but doing extremely well. Alisha was able to hold her while still in the OR before she needed some oxygen help. She only had to stay on the oxygen until 11 a.m. and is still in the lower level NICU.
