Max at 18 Months

Max is the apple of my eye.  This age is so fun!  He's talking so much & just a happy guy most of the time.  Here are some Max facts:

  • Some words he's saying are: Sorry, Love you, please, bye bye, hiiii, alright, K (this one is so cute), Ellie (Marianne's dog), Pepper (our dog), Dayeee (Daddy), Baby, Go, Car, Choo choo, Ball, Nigh-night, Bebe (binky), Cheese, Vroom Vroom, Here go, Out, Thank you, Owwwwe!, Uh-oh, Mom (not Mama or mommy), Papa (Grandpa), Marianne, Jennie Jo, Diego, Backpack
  • Animal sounds he likes to make: Monkey, dinosaur, duck, puppy, snake
  • Max LOVES music.  His favorite song has always been Twinkle Twinkly Little Star.  He sings along with that as well as Old McDonald, Row Row Row Your Boat & the ABC's.  Its ADORABLE.
  • Max definitely like to get his way & has been know to swat, scratch & pinch when he doesn't get it.  
  • He got dismissed this week from Physical Therapy & has made some great improvements in his gross motor skills.  As of today, he's officially walking more than he scoots!  Yay!  
  • Max is almost always happy & laughs a lot.  He's goofy & loves making other people laugh.
  • He goes to bed at 8, sleeps until 7 & usually takes about a 3 hour nap during the day.  He is begging to go Nigh-night by the time nap time or bed time comes around.
  • He'll only let me leave him if he's at our house with a sitter or at Grandma's house.  Friend's house or the gym daycare doesn't go well.
  • I'm not putting him in Nursery at church because he's not walking well enough yet.  Usually by this age, toddlers are out of control & all over the place at church but Max just snuggles on your lap.
  • He's all boy & LOVES cars, trains & balls.
  • He knows how to unlock the screen on my iPhone & my mom's iPad.
  • He's getting an overbite from his binky addiction but I don't care-- I love it.  
If you can't tell, Max is such a special little guy.  I am so grateful to be his Mommy.  He's my little buddy!

Height: 33 3/4 inches (84th%), Weight: 23 lbs. 12 oz. (20th%), & Head: 19.25 in (78th%)

37 Weeks 2 Days

It's almost the end! I saw Dr. Adam last Thursday and I'm starting to spill protein and swell a little. But my BP is good! So we'll see what happens when I see her this Thursday. We may have to deliver early! I have mixed feelings about that because I really wanted to make it to 39 weeks, and my parents can't come until the 14th. But Sam is worried about my kidneys. So we'll see. Baby girl was 6.5 lbs last week. Even if she comes this week, she'll probably be about 7 lbs! Me on the other hand... I've gained 40 lbs! I have 5 lbs to go to be where I was with my other deliveries. Let's see if I get there! :)

Play Date

Today we got together with another set of twins! Caden & Addison are just a month younger than Nathan & Alexa and were born at Texas Women's also! I met their mom (Laurie) through an email list I got on while on bed rest in the hospital. There was another mom who was supposed to join us who also has boy/girl twins their age-- but she couldn't make it. What a picture that would have been!

Nathan McKay Oldroyd Born August 4th at 6:37 a.m., weighs 5 lbs. 8.5 oz, & is 20 in. long Alexa Dawn Oldroyd Born August 4th at 6:38 a.m., weighs 4 lbs. 5.5 oz, & is 1 6.75 in. long We are so excited that they are finally here! The C-Section went very well & Alisha is recovering well, with the help of pain meds! Nathan needs quite a bit of help with breathing but is improving. We’re told that he may get his ventilator tube out today & they would help him breathe using a C-pap. He breathes ok on his own so he mostly now just needs some pressure to remind him to breathe. He is still in the highest level of the NICU but is doing well. He’ll be in there for at least a few days after we get to go home. Alexa is tiny but doing extremely well. Alisha was able to hold her while still in the OR before she needed some oxygen help. She only had to stay on the oxygen until 11 a.m. and is still in the lower level NICU.
