Cabin Visit April 2011

We thought a nice reward for enduring tax season would be a trip to Utah & time at the cabin!  We were right!  It was a great trip & happened to coincide with Max's 1st Birthday & Easter.  It was so nice to be with my family for those 2 events!  I didn't get a lot of pictures except for at the cabin but that was the best part anyway! The cabin is in the middle of such a beautiful place.  We had snow, food, family, a fireplace, and games.  It was the best!

The cabin is a fun place to relax & hang out!


We got some good snow while we were there.  The kids weren't so sure about it but they LOVED snowmobiling with Daddy, Uncle Zack & Aunt Hilary, and they LOVED building a snowman!


Maxwell turned ONE on Friday, April 22nd!  We waited until the next day to celebrate so Zack & Hilary could be with us.  Max was teething & a little cranky so didn't each much of the capcake.  But he sure looked cute with the frosting on his face!


We had fun coloring eggs & making everyone (even the dogs!) their own egg for the Easter Bunny to hide!





























The kids were SO excited for the Easter Bunny to come.  As I was getting them ready for bed, Nathan kept saying, "MAYBE the Easter Bunny will come say hi to us!  MAYBE he'll give us a smooch!"  It was adorable!  The Easter Bunny did not, in fact, say hi to them but he did come!  And he hid the eggs & left yummy treats in the baskets!


What a WONDERFUL visit to the cabin!  We can't wait to go back soon!

Today we got together with another set of twins! Caden & Addison are just a month younger than Nathan & Alexa and were born at Texas Women's also! I met their mom (Laurie) through an email list I got on while on bed rest in the hospital. There was another mom who was supposed to join us who also has boy/girl twins their age-- but she couldn't make it. What a picture that would have been!

Nathan McKay Oldroyd Born August 4th at 6:37 a.m., weighs 5 lbs. 8.5 oz, & is 20 in. long Alexa Dawn Oldroyd Born August 4th at 6:38 a.m., weighs 4 lbs. 5.5 oz, & is 1 6.75 in. long We are so excited that they are finally here! The C-Section went very well & Alisha is recovering well, with the help of pain meds! Nathan needs quite a bit of help with breathing but is improving. We’re told that he may get his ventilator tube out today & they would help him breathe using a C-pap. He breathes ok on his own so he mostly now just needs some pressure to remind him to breathe. He is still in the highest level of the NICU but is doing well. He’ll be in there for at least a few days after we get to go home. Alexa is tiny but doing extremely well. Alisha was able to hold her while still in the OR before she needed some oxygen help. She only had to stay on the oxygen until 11 a.m. and is still in the lower level NICU.
