One Month Old!

Max was ONE MONTH OLD yesterday! He's growing so fast, like babies do. He's around 8 lbs now & still a scrawny little guy but he's getting bigger! He is SO sweet & I just love to cuddle him. Here are some facts about Max:
  • He is very long waisted, has long arms, long fingers, long feet & long toes. Hopefully he'll be a basketball player!
  • He loves to eat
  • He gets hiccups a LOT-- just like he did in my tummy.
  • He also sneezes a lot!
  • He absolutely LOVES his binky & needs to be swaddled to sleep.
  • He has started to give me smiles in the morning after he eats.
  • He has starting making some cooing sounds.
  • He has his mommy wrapped around his tiny little finger. (I'm crazy about this little man!!)
Nathan & Alexa are doing great. Its so fun to hear their vocabulary increase. They learn new things & amaze me all of the time. Their new favorite thing is Elmo, & Nathan loves Ernie too. That will help on the long drive to Utah we have ahead of us this summer!! They also love to play outside, especially with their cousins. I can't believe they'll be 2 in just a couple of months!

Cute. max looks like a little nathan to me. I could be wrong but that's what I'm gonna stick with for now.

you're driving to UT with all 3 kids? you're so good! newborns are probably easy? I think? And then you have a DVD player so that'll be nice for N&A. Good luck! you drivin' through AZ? :) We'll be up in Northern AZ in July

Today we got together with another set of twins! Caden & Addison are just a month younger than Nathan & Alexa and were born at Texas Women's also! I met their mom (Laurie) through an email list I got on while on bed rest in the hospital. There was another mom who was supposed to join us who also has boy/girl twins their age-- but she couldn't make it. What a picture that would have been!

Nathan McKay Oldroyd Born August 4th at 6:37 a.m., weighs 5 lbs. 8.5 oz, & is 20 in. long Alexa Dawn Oldroyd Born August 4th at 6:38 a.m., weighs 4 lbs. 5.5 oz, & is 1 6.75 in. long We are so excited that they are finally here! The C-Section went very well & Alisha is recovering well, with the help of pain meds! Nathan needs quite a bit of help with breathing but is improving. We’re told that he may get his ventilator tube out today & they would help him breathe using a C-pap. He breathes ok on his own so he mostly now just needs some pressure to remind him to breathe. He is still in the highest level of the NICU but is doing well. He’ll be in there for at least a few days after we get to go home. Alexa is tiny but doing extremely well. Alisha was able to hold her while still in the OR before she needed some oxygen help. She only had to stay on the oxygen until 11 a.m. and is still in the lower level NICU.
