Alexa Walks

My kids are finally looking like they may walk someday. Alexa has been showing signs for quite a while now but she's very cautious & doesn't have much confidence. She's recently become a little more brave. Here are a couple of videos to show her new skills:



Isn't she adorable?

Nathan... well... we found out that he totally can stand up on his own but chooses not to most of the time. I think one day he'll just start walking when he's good & ready!

Yay!! Walking is such a huge milestone!!! And she is so cute doing it.

It must be a boy thing, maybe, when they don't want to be pushed into walking. Jackson would try a couple of times and then he would declare his independence by getting angry if we made him stand up anymore.

Hey, thanks again for coming last night, it was fun and much needed! Let's go get a seasonal shot together. Call me tomorrow and we'll go find someplace together. We'll just have to wait for the H1N1 to be released here.

Today we got together with another set of twins! Caden & Addison are just a month younger than Nathan & Alexa and were born at Texas Women's also! I met their mom (Laurie) through an email list I got on while on bed rest in the hospital. There was another mom who was supposed to join us who also has boy/girl twins their age-- but she couldn't make it. What a picture that would have been!

Nathan McKay Oldroyd Born August 4th at 6:37 a.m., weighs 5 lbs. 8.5 oz, & is 20 in. long Alexa Dawn Oldroyd Born August 4th at 6:38 a.m., weighs 4 lbs. 5.5 oz, & is 1 6.75 in. long We are so excited that they are finally here! The C-Section went very well & Alisha is recovering well, with the help of pain meds! Nathan needs quite a bit of help with breathing but is improving. We’re told that he may get his ventilator tube out today & they would help him breathe using a C-pap. He breathes ok on his own so he mostly now just needs some pressure to remind him to breathe. He is still in the highest level of the NICU but is doing well. He’ll be in there for at least a few days after we get to go home. Alexa is tiny but doing extremely well. Alisha was able to hold her while still in the OR before she needed some oxygen help. She only had to stay on the oxygen until 11 a.m. and is still in the lower level NICU.
