Baker Family Visit
Last month, the Bakers came for a visit. Thanks to the awesome planning & organizing skills of Aunt Marianne, we had a fun-filled week! There are now 10 grandkids (Gavin 8, Spencer 6, William 4, Savannah 3, Nathan 2 1/2, Alexa 2 1/2, Owen 2 1/2, Isaac 2, Maxwell 11 mo, & Callan 4 mo) so it was a week full of adventures!
Later that afternoon we had probably the most fun at all at Bounce U. Adults & kids alike went flying at break-neck speeds down the slides. We were all a sweaty tired mess at the end & can't wait to go back. Nathan literally has talked about the Bounce house every day since that day.
Thursday 3.17.11: We started our fun adventure on St. Patrick's Day with a trip to the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo. We saw tons of fun animals, John Deer tractors (Nathan's favorite part), ate funnel cakes, watching pig races, & had a great time with everyone!
Friday 3.18.11: We got up Friday morning & went to Portrait Innovations so have an updated picture of all of the grandkids taken. Wasn't that fun!! All of the 2 year olds were crying at one point. And poor baby Cal was so tired. But we figure that's just life right now! The picture turned out ADORABLE, of course, and Grandpa & Grandma were thrilled! (I'll scan in the picture here later today)
Then we headed off to some fun at the La Centera fountains for some water time. We were joined by our other family, the Vandifords. So that added Greta (8) and another 2 year old, Elsa. And Aunt Courtney of course!

Half the fun was the pic-nic lunch we had afterwards. We, as a group, picked nearly 50 lbs of strawberries! And, of course, Jam making went late into that night. YUM!
That evening we had a fun dinner with some more "family," Kaitlin & Ryan Fehlburg & Sam got home enough from work to join us (Tax season-- BOO!) We had some great weather in March & it was nice to sit outside & enjoy it!
Sunday 3.21.11: Nothing too exciting happened on Sunday. Just going to church & dinner as a family. But this cute picture of the 3 little girls (Elsa, Alexa & Savannah) eating ice cream was too cute not to sure!
Monday 3.22.11: Monday was zoo day. Alexa had a fever so Max & I stayed home with her but Nathan went with the rest of the family. Apparently, he was their little tour guide; telling everyone which animal to see in which order. (Maybe I need to change it up when we go next time!) They saw lots of fun animals, rode the carosel & even the fun Hermann Park Train! Nathan was in HEAVEN!
Tuesday 3.23.11: Tuesday was the day everyone wounded down. Grandma Great Dudley flew in for a visit that afternoon so we were able to enjoy dinner with her that night.
See, I told ya it was a fun adventure! My poor kids were so bored (& sick) after this week. Spending time with everyone was a such a treat! We miss Amy & her boys & can't wait for them to come visit for A WHOLE MONTH this summer! I see the Bounce House & lots of pool time in our future!
