2 Special Babies...

In all the excitement of finding out about our twins, I neglected to post pictures of the visits I had with two other VERY important babies!

Tiffany & Avery came to visit over Martin Luther King Jr. weekend. We had so much fun relaxing, taking walks, and playing with the baby! Avery and Pepper were best friends. She was about 7 1/2 months old here... what a fun age!

Later that month I took a 3 day weekend to go and meet my nephew Luke for the first time. He is so cute and SO tiny since he was born 3 weeks early! I know babies are so much fun when they start talking and smiling but I absolutely LOVE newborns! It was so fun to hold him and feed him. Luke is such a handsome little guy... I also, as always, enjoyed the time with Amanda, Jae, Taylor & Carly. Family time is the best! I wasn't able to help out as much with Luke as I have with the other two when they were infants because I'm so exhausted! Sorry Amanda!

Alisha... I found your site through Rachelle! We lived by eachother is college! Great to see you and the latest with your BOOMING family! I can't believe you're having twins!!!!! I am so excited for you! I will be eager to see more updates of your growing belly! I hope pregnancy treats you well! It's a long road- but totally worth it!

Rachelle and i were roomies at ricks our 1st year! Small world! I can't wait to find out the sexes of your twins! You'll get to pick 2 names which is awesome!

37 Weeks 2 Days

It's almost the end! I saw Dr. Adam last Thursday and I'm starting to spill protein and swell a little. But my BP is good! So we'll see what happens when I see her this Thursday. We may have to deliver early! I have mixed feelings about that because I really wanted to make it to 39 weeks, and my parents can't come until the 14th. But Sam is worried about my kidneys. So we'll see. Baby girl was 6.5 lbs last week. Even if she comes this week, she'll probably be about 7 lbs! Me on the other hand... I've gained 40 lbs! I have 5 lbs to go to be where I was with my other deliveries. Let's see if I get there! :)

Play Date

Today we got together with another set of twins! Caden & Addison are just a month younger than Nathan & Alexa and were born at Texas Women's also! I met their mom (Laurie) through an email list I got on while on bed rest in the hospital. There was another mom who was supposed to join us who also has boy/girl twins their age-- but she couldn't make it. What a picture that would have been!

Nathan McKay Oldroyd Born August 4th at 6:37 a.m., weighs 5 lbs. 8.5 oz, & is 20 in. long Alexa Dawn Oldroyd Born August 4th at 6:38 a.m., weighs 4 lbs. 5.5 oz, & is 1 6.75 in. long We are so excited that they are finally here! The C-Section went very well & Alisha is recovering well, with the help of pain meds! Nathan needs quite a bit of help with breathing but is improving. We’re told that he may get his ventilator tube out today & they would help him breathe using a C-pap. He breathes ok on his own so he mostly now just needs some pressure to remind him to breathe. He is still in the highest level of the NICU but is doing well. He’ll be in there for at least a few days after we get to go home. Alexa is tiny but doing extremely well. Alisha was able to hold her while still in the OR before she needed some oxygen help. She only had to stay on the oxygen until 11 a.m. and is still in the lower level NICU.
