Lincoln at 9 Months

Lincoln turned 9 months old on Wednesday. He's cutting some teeth so he kind of had a grumpy day. Pretty much the only thing that made him happy was sitting on the Radio Flyer scooter and pushing himself back and forth. He looks so much like Nathan in this picture!

We went to the pediatrician yesterday and it was such a fun visit! No shots and the nurses passed Lincoln around while we waited for the doctor. He's such a ladies man!

Lincoln is such a joy to have around. His almost always happy and is starting to show his BIG personality. Here are some thing about our cute little Chubba Wubs:

 Weight: 21 lbs 1 oz (74%)   Height: 28.25" (46%)   Head: 19.02" (100%)
  • He takes 3 naps a day (2 short, 1 long) and sleeps from about 8:30 - 6:45.
  • He takes 4 bottles a day but isn't very attached to them. He loves real food! He does ok on baby food but table food is where it's at for him!
  • Will only eat veggies when they're with fruit
  • Loves yogurt
  • Loves to drink water from a sippy cup
  • He is working REALLY hard on crawling. Between rolling, scooting, and army crawling, he usually can get where he needs to go!
  • Loves to give wide open-mouthed kisses
  • He got his bottom right tooth and his right incisor at about 8 months old
  • Loves his binky and was able to put it in himself soon after 6 months old (So awesome)
  • LOVES his big brothers and sister. He starts laughing when he sees them because he knows they'll do something silly to make him laugh
  • He wakes up so happy but he also wakes up VERY loudly. Lots of squeals and screaming!
  • He still has beautiful BLUE eyes
  • His hair definitely has some red in it
  • If he doesn't like something you're feeding him, or he's done with it, he sticks his tongue out and spits
  • Loves Baby Mozart but cries if I put any other Baby Einstein on
  • His nicknames are: Linc, Binkin, Bink, Chubbers, Chubba Wubbs, Chunk a Munk
  • He loves the puppies
  • He loves to see pictures and videos of himself
  • Loves to be sung to, especially an old camp song called The Bungalow King
  • His favorite place to play is on the trundle of the bunk beds
  • He loves to be outside but gets frustrated that he can't run around with the kids

We love our little Lincoln Man! I wish I could keep him this age forever!

37 Weeks 2 Days

It's almost the end! I saw Dr. Adam last Thursday and I'm starting to spill protein and swell a little. But my BP is good! So we'll see what happens when I see her this Thursday. We may have to deliver early! I have mixed feelings about that because I really wanted to make it to 39 weeks, and my parents can't come until the 14th. But Sam is worried about my kidneys. So we'll see. Baby girl was 6.5 lbs last week. Even if she comes this week, she'll probably be about 7 lbs! Me on the other hand... I've gained 40 lbs! I have 5 lbs to go to be where I was with my other deliveries. Let's see if I get there! :)

Play Date

Today we got together with another set of twins! Caden & Addison are just a month younger than Nathan & Alexa and were born at Texas Women's also! I met their mom (Laurie) through an email list I got on while on bed rest in the hospital. There was another mom who was supposed to join us who also has boy/girl twins their age-- but she couldn't make it. What a picture that would have been!

Nathan McKay Oldroyd Born August 4th at 6:37 a.m., weighs 5 lbs. 8.5 oz, & is 20 in. long Alexa Dawn Oldroyd Born August 4th at 6:38 a.m., weighs 4 lbs. 5.5 oz, & is 1 6.75 in. long We are so excited that they are finally here! The C-Section went very well & Alisha is recovering well, with the help of pain meds! Nathan needs quite a bit of help with breathing but is improving. We’re told that he may get his ventilator tube out today & they would help him breathe using a C-pap. He breathes ok on his own so he mostly now just needs some pressure to remind him to breathe. He is still in the highest level of the NICU but is doing well. He’ll be in there for at least a few days after we get to go home. Alexa is tiny but doing extremely well. Alisha was able to hold her while still in the OR before she needed some oxygen help. She only had to stay on the oxygen until 11 a.m. and is still in the lower level NICU.
