Christmas in Utah
This year, we decided to pack up and do Christmas at the cabin! And even better, the Walkers decided to join us. We headed out on Friday, December 19th and drove for 2 days to get there. The kids did so well!
An hour or so before we got to the cabin, we stopped in Kanab for some groceries. The grocery store was darling and even had Mater's "cousin" out front!
The Walkers got there late Saturday night and the kids were all so excited to see each other in the morning!
Another fun thing that happened is that both of our family elves found us at the cabin! Christopher and Chester had a great time with all their shenanigans, like toilet papering the tree and ziplining from the loft!
We had so much fun making crafts...
Riding 4 Wheelers... (not enough snow for snowmobiles!)
And just hanging out and being silly!
Here we are on Christmas Eve Morning!
For Christmas Eve dinner, Tiffany made the most delicious Chicken Cordon Bleu. It has to be my favorite meal! Such a fun evening with some of our very best friends in the world.
Here are the kids checking the Santa tracker with Justin
We opened Christmas Jammies, movies, and then settled in to watch the Polar Express!
It looks like Santa foun us at the cabin!
We woke up to a white Christmas!
Nathan: JJ Watt jersey, an Erector set, legos, Junie B Jones Books, TaeKownDo Clap Kickers
Alexa: Frozen Karaoke machine, pink cowgirl boots, Palace Pets, Junie B. Jones Books
Maxwell: Blade & Dusty (Planes Fire & Rescue), TaeKwonDo mitts, Lego truck, Pete the Cat Books
Lincoln: V-tech Laptop, Hooded towel, "How Do I Love Thee?" book
Lincoln was in heaven with the girls reading him his new book!
Daddy had a good Christmas, too! (So did I!)
I can't believe I didn't get one picture of Alexa & Avery singing Frozen. They had the BEST time! Such a fun gift.
Later Christmas day, Grandma and Grandpa came down. The next morning, The Walkers left. We were sad to see them go! Later on the 26th, Zack, Hilary & Hunter came and then Amanda and her kids. Here's what Grandma & Grandpa got the kids!
We were lucky enough to have Grammy, Grandpa Great & Aunt Vicki come for a visit!
And that's the end of the pictures because this is the day I came down with the flu. It was horrible. Lincoln was next, then Alexa got a fever while we were in St. George seeing a Dr. for Lincoln. They both got on Tamiflu. Then we stayed the night in Las Vegas. Sam woke up sick the next day so we stopped in Phoenix and got him Tamiflu. We also bought a new top carrier at REI because ours tore. It was a good thing we did because the wind was horrible driving to Las Cruces, NM. The hotel was disgusting and most of us were sick. Alexa even threw up in the hotel parking lot. We made it to Fort Stockton, TX, and the ice storm started. It was pretty much a horrific day. What was supposed to be a 10 hour drive was a 19 hour drive. We got home at 3 am on New Years Day.
It tooks us days to unpack and recover. Nathan got a really mild case of the flu and Max never got it. Needless to say, we're not planning on driving to Utah during the winter anytime soon. It was still a fun trip beforehand!
Here's to an awesome 2015!
