The Oldroyd Family

Maxwell saw the pediatrician yesterday for his Well Check.  It was a great visit because there were NO SHOTS!  Yay!  Here are his stats: Height: 41 1/4" (>97th%)     Weight: 31 lbs (44th%)      Head: 20 1/4" (88th%) Tall boy!!!  The funny this is that just a couple of months ago, I measured him with shoes on & he was under 40" so we were worried about rides at Disneyland.  I went out  & bought him the tallest Sketchers I could find!  He still loves the shoes but clearly doesn't need the height anymore!   Max... LOVES music & loves to sing to the radio.  His favorite song is "I Will Wait" by Mumford & Sons. is crazy about Diego & its all he wants to watch gets a little jealous if other babies are around. has a wicked temper & is VERY stubborn still loves pancakes & eats them every day.  Sometimes twice a day. says, "What's the big idea???" & makes everyon...

Hank lost his manhood on Tuesday.  He had no idea what was coming.  I dropped him off early in the morning at the Humane Society.  Max was very concerned about him all day. When I went to pick him up in the afternoon, I watched as dog after dog walked out all droopy & drousy.  But then there came Hank... hyper as ever & happy to see me! (sigh)   We headed straight to Petsmart to get him a "cone of shame."  He was pretty ticked about it but is pretty used to it now.  We're supposed to keep him calm and not jumping for several days.  Ummmm.... not doing so well on that.  He's crazy!  But we love him!

Max turned 3!  We had such a fun day celebrating our little man. Mondays are gymnastics days & he loved being sung to there.  We then headed to Lupe Tortilla to have some lunch with friends! We headed home for naps & I started setting up for his Diego themed family party. When Max woke up, he was so excited to see the decorations!  He said, "I have awesome party Mom!"  Score! Max was SO cute & excited opening his presents.  I love this kid! What a happy day celebrating my favorite little 3 year old!

On the 17th, Alexa & I went on a little Mommy/Daughter date with some friends to Disney on Ice!  It was so fun to have a little girl time & the show was great! We went with Britney & Arie and Alli & Reese - look at these cute princesses!

April 16th is a great day for 2 reasons: 1) Its Sam's birthday! 2) It marks the end of TAX SEASON & we get him back!! The kids gave him a gift card to the gun range (which he knew was coming because small children can't keep a secret!) & I gave him tickets to the symphony & money to eat out.  I also found a newly opened Great Harvest Bread so we had delicious french toast from their Cinnaburst Bread for breakfast! Our date Friday night was SO wonderful!  My friend Sarah was generous enough to get me comp tickets to the Symphony & we went to a great show that they did with Michael Cavanaugh . We ate dinner at Ruggles Green, which is my new favorite place to eat.  It was a fun night! We celebrated with the family the following Sunday.  Look at all those candles! We're grateful to have such a wonderful & hard working daddy & husband.  Happy birthday!!!   

Great advice from one of the best men who ever lived.  From everything I know about him, he lived his life with joy.  I want to be more like him.

On Friday, Grandma Marie & Grandma Great Gines came to see us!  I didn't tell the kids they were coming... partly to surprise them... mostly for self preservation.  (Have you ever lived with small children who were looking forward to something?  They ask about it every 2 minutes!!)  It was fun to pile them in the car on Friday afternoon & head for the airport.  They loved their surprise! I loved this picture of my mom & Nathan... the kids REALLY love her and REALLY love that her iPad comes with her!  Nathan was helping Grandma play Words with Friends. We also did some sewing!  I had been wanting to make Nathan some PJ shorts for summer (I hate buying PJ's!) so my mom brought her pattern & helped me whip them up.  All set! I loved having them here, & so did the kids.  I especially loved having my Grandma here.  She is one special lady & I cherish every second I get to spend with her.  Fam...
