Max's 2nd Birthday Party

Image
Maxwell turned TWO today!  We had a little family party for him & had his favorite meal: pancakes, fruit, bacon & chocolate milk!  We were also able to celebrate with Papa Charles (a close family friend) who shares a birthday with Max!  It was pure chaos with all of the kids.  Perfect. Max got some fun toys that he loves, a new swimming suit, art supplies & the big present from Mom & Dad is a sand & water table.  I think he's going to love it!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY BABY BOY!!!! He visits the pediatrician on Thursday.  Can't wait to see how much he's grown!

Fire Station Visit

Image
On Thursday, we went with our Joy School group to the Pecan Grove Fire Station.  The fireman showed the kids around the station & told them all about the truck, gear & fire safety!  The kids had so much fun, especially when they got to sit on the fire truck & honk the air horn!  Alexa was too nervous to honk the horn but everyone else loved it!  Younger siblings (Max & Avery) got to join us & our cousin, Savannah, came along too!  Thanks for your time & hard work fireman Mike!

Daddy is 34!

Sam was destined to be a CPA.  His birthday is April 16th!  Usually that's perfect-- right after tax season. TWO reasons to celebrate.  But this year he got the short end of the stick... because the 15th was Sunday, the tax deadline was the 17th.  And this has been the busiest year yet so he still had to work a full LONG day on his birthday.  BOO :( We celebrated with a family dinner at his mom's on Sunday & then the kids & I had a french toast breakfast with him before work & had him open his presents. We have the best daddy in the WORLD!  He works so hard for our family & still makes time to be the most helpful & supportive husband & daddy anyone could ask for.  He has truly been my partner in all of my health struggles.  He puts me & the kids first.  We are so lucky to have him!  Happy birthday!!

Joy School: Painting Cookies

Image
I taught Joy School today & we did such a fun activity!  It was inspired by something I saw on Pinterest, of course!  We made their names (& some other fun shapes) out of sugar cookie dough, baked them, then painted them with Sweet & Condensed Milk & food coloring.  They had such a fun time!  Probably one of my favorite activities we've done. We're working in our "Imagination" unit & I told them the story of Goldie Locks & the 3 Bears on Tuesday.  So today we acted the story out.  They loved it!  It was so fun watching them act out each part.  I love this age!

Joy School Easter Party

We had a cute little Easter party for Joy School on Thursday.  The kids had fun eating snacks & loading up on candy!

Happy Easter 2012!

This morning, the kids woke up to find that the Easter Bunny had come!  He hid a few eggs filled with some treats & also hid their baskets!  In them they each got a new movie (N: Bob the Builder, A: Snow White & M: Thomas), coloring books, bubbles, bubble bath, & the big kids got some flash cards & Max got some new freight cars for his Thomas trains! And of course more CANDY! (Just what we need!) And here they are all dressed up for church.  So cute!  Alexa has been SO excited to wear her Easter dress since I bought it.  I love her dress- so EASTERY!  And of course the boys look so handsome in their adorable vests! I just love these kids!

Easter Fun

I babysat the Bakers last Wednesday, Friday & again today (Monday).  That's a lot of together time for all the kids!  They were so good last week that I promised them some Easter fun today!  This morning we dyed eggs... And this afternoon we made Easter Sugar Cookies!  Yum! I bought some Edible Markers a while back so the kids enjoyed coloring on their cookies before eating them-- and I enjoyed not having frosting all over my kitchen!  Win-win!
